We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Temporary Apparel Product Development Assistant to support the Johnston & Murphy Apparel Team. This role will focus on coordinating samples, managing development tracking, and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure seasonal timelines are met. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Support the product development team in executing seasonal timelines from initial development through production
- Coordinate sample submissions, tracking, and approvals throughout the development process
- Maintain and update seasonal development charts and track proto and fit samples
- Manage sample logistics, including organization, follow-up, and communication with vendors
- Assist with preparing for fittings and documenting updates from technical design reviews
- Communicate development updates to internal teams and external partners
- Support fabric, trim, and sample approvals in partnership with cross-functional teams
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the product development team
Experience and Skill's You'll Need to Have
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience (coursework or internship experience) in apparel, product development or technical design preferred
- Basic understanding of garment construction and product lifecycle processes is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PLM or ERP systems is a plus
