Lead Customer Analytics Engineer - Hybrid/Remote

The Ideal Summary

The Lead Customer Analytics Engineer position will lead the charge on building scalable analytical models to support Customer Analytics for all of Genesco's brands. The position will require strong analytical skills along with deep experience in customer data modeling. They will work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve complex business problems with data while keeping customer at the center.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Customer Centricity
    • Lead design, development, testing and optimization of Customer Centric Analytical models in support of Customer Journey, Customer Health and Loyalty analytics for all brands of Genesco.
    • Work closely with our CDP vendors to elicit requirements in support of strategic customer analytics.
    • Provide timely and detailed guidance on the use of Customer Data Models to Data Analysts.
    • Create adhoc customer analysis for executive leadership in strategy, marketing and retail divisions.
    • Lead and support building of Customer Acquisition/Retention and LifeTime models.
  • Analytical Data Modeling
    • High degree of proficiency in design and development of analytical models to support multi-purpose data analytics needs.
    • Familiarity with both traditional and modern approaches to analytical data modeling.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of skilled Customer Data Analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Work in close collaboration with Director of Customer and Market Insights as well as VP of Strategy to surface new insights from 1st and 3rd party customer/market information in support of long-range goals.


Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Retail experience preferred. B2C experience necessary.
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and Analytical/Semantic data modeling.
  • Experience with Reporting Software (IBM Cognos 10+, SSRS, PowerBI, Oracle BI, etc) is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Some travel may be required.
