Ecommerce Operations Manager - Johnston & Murphy

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an Ecommerce Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our ecommerce platform, support the implementation of new features and ensure that all connected tools and systems work together to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience. You'll work cross-functionally with marketing, IT, customer experience, and merchandising teams to ensure our ecommerce platform and its integrations operate effectively and support the brand's aesthetic and values.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Own the daily operations of our ecommerce site (Salesforce Commerce Cloud), ensuring stability, speed, and seamless functionality across the customer journey.
  • Manage the relationship with our digital development agency-prioritizing feature updates, tracking progress, and delivering timely improvements that elevate the shopping experience.
  • Ensure third-party tools such as product reviews, returns platforms, personalization engines, and search tools are fully integrated and optimized for fashion retail.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and creative teams to support seasonal product launches, content refreshes, and brand storytelling through site experience.
  • Translate business needs into actionable site features-balancing brand voice, usability, and performance.
  • Partner with Customer Experience to identify and resolve site-related issues, while proactively finding and fixing friction points in the customer journey.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate product data and inventory across systems (OMS, PIM, ERP) and outbound channels (email, ads, marketplaces).
  • Lead QA for new features, ensuring they meet design expectations and deliver a polished, on-brand experience.
  • Use digital experience tools (DXPs) to analyze shopper behavior, spot areas of drop-off or confusion, and recommend enhancements that drive conversion.
  • Track and report key operational KPIs, including site speed, bounce rates, internal search performance, and error rates, connecting the dots between performance and customer outcomes.


Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA), or Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with emphasis in Marketing, or equivalent work experience
  • 4-6+ years in ecommerce operations or site management, ideally in fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands.
  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and related systems (OMS, PIM, ERP); fashion Ecommerce experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with ecommerce integrations that elevate the customer experience-personalization, returns, fit tools, user-generated content, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with digital experience platforms (DXPs) for evaluating site behavior and informing optimization efforts
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and communication skills-able to keep cross-functional partners aligned and informed.
  • A sharp eye for design, UX, and brand consistency.
