Product Planning & Scheduling Manager- Hybrid-Johnston & Murphy

Job Summary:

Manage the planning, supply, and purchasing process to maintain appropriate finished goods inventory for all Johnston & Murphy categories. Work with peers, senior staff members, salespersons, and corporate personnel as needed to fulfill this obligation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the generation of finished goods purchase orders from Merchandisers to meet objectives for customer order fulfillment, inventory levels, and turn.

• Effectively communicate inventory requirements and availability with other key managers and salespeople.

• Work closely with Wholesale, Retail, and Sourcing to ensure the best possible use of inventory assets.

• Support the sales teams by being available to answer questions pertaining to inventory availability.

• Develop and maintain appropriate reports for the purpose of communicating slow moving and obsolete inventory.

• Participate in all buy meetings and facilitate meetings as the need arises.

• Monitor demand and create or revise purchase orders, to continually and consistently support our key customers' changing business needs.

• Monitor and update the distribution curves at the width/size level for all active stock numbers on at least a seasonal basis, reviewing quarterly for trend changes.

• Create and maintain item master's within Jesta S&D and the PIM.

• Monitor the updates to the Purchase Order Tracker, so that it is kept accurate and up to date.

• Proactively offer solutions to concerns before they become issues.

• Management of the samples and makeup goods process involving creation of stock numbers and purchase orders.

• Perform entry of daily receiving exceptions as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 3 - 6 years wholesale soft goods, demand planning, or merchandising experience
  • Computer proficiency to include MS office, especially Excel.
  • Prior footwear, purchasing, and/or merchandising experience required.
