- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the IT strategy for distribution centers, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
- Lead technology initiatives that enhance the efficiency, scalability, and security of distribution center systems.
- Stay current on trends and innovations in distribution technologies, leveraging best practices to improve operations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives across DCIT environment.
- System Management & Integration:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and support of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other distribution center technologies.
- Ensure the seamless integration of distribution center systems with other enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, transportation management systems, etc).
- Collaborate closely with division-specific distribution operations teams to develop and refine system requirements based on business needs.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, including systems analysts, developers, and support staff, dedicated to the support of distribution center operations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, logistics, and finance to ensure IT solutions meet business goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across DC IT team and within the broader distribution center ecosystem.
- Partner and collaborate closely with division-specific DC Leadership and 3PL partners as needed on strategic, operational, or technical matters.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Direct IT projects related to distribution centers, from initiation through implementation, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budgets in close consultation with PMO.
- Ensure that all technology projects are aligned with company strategy, prioritize resources, and manage risks throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee the evaluation and selection of vendors for system implementations and upgrades.
- Operational Excellence:
- Drive the continuous improvement of system reliability, performance, and scalability to support growing business needs.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery plans and system redundancy to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure system efficiency and team productivity.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure that distribution center systems comply with internal security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).
- Support the implementation of cybersecurity measures and best practices to safeguard critical systems and sensitive data in close consultation with Security and Enterprise Service Teams.
- Budgeting & Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the annual IT budget for distribution center systems, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize spending across technology initiatives and vendor partnerships.
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in IT leadership roles with a focus on distribution centers, supply chain, or logistics systems.
- Proven experience managing warehouse management systems (WMS) (focus on Manhattan WM ideally) and other critical distribution technologies.
- Strong project management experience, with a track record of successful IT project delivery in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of distribution center processes, operations, and best practices.
- Proficiency with WMS, ERP, transportation management systems (TMS), and automation technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Experience with vendor management, contract negotiations, and IT procurement processes.
- Preferred Certifications:
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Certification
- Certifications in ERP/WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Manhattan Associates)
- Work Environment:
- Regular/weekly travel to distribution centers and corporate office
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
