Job Summary: The Transportation and Routing Analyst is responsible for providing operational and analytical support in the domestic logistics operations, including the routing of freight to Genesco distribution centers and stores. A passion for customer service excellence, clear communications, accurate and timely output, working with a sense of urgency are critical success factors in this position.
Job Responsibilities:
• Review routing requests and provide acknowledgements, along with data-driven guidance to vendors to optimize shipment efficiency.
• Analyze and generate in-transit reports, assessing timing and performance metrics between internal and external partners to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Support the resolution of critical routing issues by analyzing shipment data and collaborating with all internal and external partners to ensure timely freight movement.
• Manage the Return to Vendor process, including product return authorization, shipment routing, and documentation, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting for all returns.
• Track and analyze all parcel and LTL inbound shipments.
• Serve as vendor contact for direct shipments by-passing domestic warehouses, utilizing data analysis to optimize these shipments and resolve issues.
• Monitor and assess advanced shipping notices (ASN) for inbound domestic shipments, identifying patterns and potential delays to improve forecasting and planning.
• Collect, analyze, and update logistics performance data and reports daily, identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Review and file shipping and receiving documents from the warehouse, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal standards.
• Cross-trained to perform routing specialist functions as needed.
• Seek process improvement and cost savings.
• Perform departmental administrative tasks as required.
• Support Inbound Manager in analyzing logistics processes to identify areas for improvements and cost-saving initiatives, leveraging data insights to recommend and implement changes.
• Support Sr. Inbound Logistics Manager with service, cost and team initiatives.
Job Requirements:
• 2+ years experience in related field desired.
• Experience with UPS Quantum View and FedEx systems a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel: Advanced formula functions, pivot tables, conditional formatting, charts, etc.
• Capability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on complex and diverse logistics data sets.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in and contribute to a high-performance, collaborative team environment
• Detail oriented and ability to demonstrate organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while understanding priorities and expedite work as necessary.
• Ability to deal with all internal associates and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
