The Systems Analyst is responsible for the support, administration, and maintenance of systems across Genesco divisions. This role focuses on creating, organizing, and maintaining systems documentation, performing quality assurance testing as needed while ensuring adherence to QA standards, and occasionally providing project management and coordination. Collaboration is a key aspect of this position, requiring frequent interaction with business divisions, software/systems engineers, and cross-functional teams to define, document, and test Genesco-specific initiatives effectively.

The Systems Analyst plays a critical role in fostering Agile methodologies, supporting iterative improvements, and enabling collaboration across multiple teams. This includes leveraging tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and Lucid to optimize workflows, maintain security standards, and customize solutions to meet departmental needs while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Systems Analysis & User Support:
    • Provide Tier 1 application support for functional usage.
    • Analyze data and generate queries/reports to troubleshoot system anomalies.
    • Act as a liaison between users and technical teams for business needs and enhancement requests.
    • Perform system parameter maintenance and user setup.
    • Support SOX audit compliance activities.
  • Quality Assurance & Business Analysis:
    • Perform quality assurance testing as needed, ensuring adherence to QA standards.
    • Gather and document requirements for projects and systems.
    • Verify vendor-supplied patches and ensure system parameter integrity.
  • Knowledge Management & Systems Documentation:
    • Gather, organize, and maintain systems and process documentation.
    • Identify documentation gaps and create diagrams or flowcharts as needed.
    • Develop standardized templates to ensure consistency across documentation.
    • Maintain and enhance the team's Confluence support and training space, including organizing and archiving documentation as needed.
  • Systems Administration:
    • Administer, support, and maintain Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and Lucid platforms.
    • Perform administrative tasks such as user/project management, workflow configuration, permissions, and notifications.
    • Assess, implement, and optimize system enhancements, integrations, and processes.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
    • Provide troubleshooting and end-user support.


Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role, including presentations, status reporting, and requirements gathering.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL queries in relational databases is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall, and an understanding of SDLC models.
  • Experience working with and administering Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence) preferred.
  • Prior experience partnering with programming teams to deliver technical solutions, particularly in requirements management.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet and Lucid suites is a plus.
  • Experience in Retail IT or with Data Center Operations teams is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to Middle Tennessee locations and provide off-hours support as needed.
